Target Audience

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:


  1. Identify and apply current best practices in the diagnosis and management of common and high-risk emergency conditions.
  2. Apply principles of inter-professional teamwork in managing patients in the emergency setting.
  3. Clarify legal and ethical practices of the medical profession to ensure the maintenance of the highest professional standards in the care of patients.
  4. Formulate a broad differential diagnosis based on patient presentation, radiographic, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results.
  5. Identify gaps in physician knowledge or hospital resources that may have contributed to the morbidity or mortality of the patient.
