Overview
Pre-registration closes Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 9:00 am. On site registration will be available.

The 4th Annual Stroke and Neurocritical Care Symposium (SNCC) is designed to provide physicians and allied healthcare professionals with a comprehensive overview on the cutting-edge management for cerebrovascular diseases and neurocritical care including useful information on recognition and treatment of neurological emergencies.  Topics to be covered include neurovascular surgery, cerebrovascular emergencies and neurocritical care.  In addition, medical crossfire debates, consisting of experts in the field, will provide spirited discussions and debates on a particular clinical issue.

Course Director's Message
Welcome to our fourth annual CME symposium on Stroke and Neurocritical Care (SNCC): Advanced Management of Neurological and Neurosurgical Emergencies and Critical Care.

There are several hot topics including tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), intracerebral hemorrhage surgery, neurotrauma, targeted temperature management, heart-brain interactions and more. Back by the popular demand, we will provide small group workshops for special topics including code strokes for the emergency room, neurocritical care APP fellowship and neurointervention.

In addition, emphasis will be on improving care for the primary neurocritical condition, better recognition, prevention, and correction of medical complications and secondary brain injury. Examination of health care delivery, management strategies, and identification of individual thresholds by means of advanced technology will all play important roles. Neurocritical care and research is a multidisciplinary and multiprofessional effort, and neurointensivists are tasked to lead this effort to further advance their field.

Please join us for this exciting fourth annual program on Stroke and Neurocritical Care!

Target Audience
This activity is designed for general and consult neurologists, stroke neurologists, neuro-intensivists, general, vascular, spine and trauma neurosurgeons, pulmonary critical care medicine physicians, surgical critical care and general/trauma surgeons, anesthesiology critical care medicine physicians, emergency medicine physicians, critical care registered nurses, neuroscience nurses, acute care nurse practitioners, physician assistants, EMTs and paramedics, pharmacists, and physicians and surgeons in training.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Assess the latest evidence-based medical literature in acute neurological and neurosurgical emergencies including strategies for resuscitating patients with injured brains due to various etiologies
  2. Review the latest guidelines on ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, neurotrauma and neuro-intensive care medicine
  3. Describe the emerging research in neurological and neurosurgical emergencies
  4. Recognize key methods for treating multiple end organ system failures that occur in patients with acute brain injury
  5. Discuss the latest trends on acute stroke therapeutics
