Overview

Course Overview
Transgender persons suffer significant health disparities and may require medical intervention as part of their care. In addition to the usual care, transgender patients often require medical interventions such as hormone therapy and/or surgery. The purpose of this activity is to provide healthcare practitioners with the knowledge, skills and strategies to better understand the barriers to high quality health care for transgender individuals and to propose appropriate clinical care delivering options in order to understand both the mechanisms of those barriers and potential interventions to overcome them.

Director, Women's Health Institute
Co-Director, The Gender Center of New Jersey
