Objectives
  Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Identify the indications/contradictions for new modalities in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions presented at each session
  2. Describe new management and prevention strategies used for selected medical problems and types of patients
  3. Discuss new developments and/or techniques being used in current scientific research
  4. Use information to improve communication to patients and providers to enhance patient care
  5. Discuss a wide range of clinical and non-clinical issues that impact surgical practice
