Overview
This symposium is an immersive experience where evidence-based information on the Neurocognitive Disorders will be provided through fictional character depictions from selected Shakespearean tragedies. Following brief performances provided by actors from the Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts, board-certified psychiatrists will provide case formulation and medical narrative of the observed behaviors (scenes). By achieving stated objectives, the proposed activity will provide evidence-based information to clinicians who care for individuals afflicted with neurocognitive disorders such as delirium and major and minor neurocognitive disorders. This includes epidemiological data, risk factors, diagnosis, case formulation and treatment planning for the mental disorders published in the Neurocognitive Disorders chapter of the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
