Overview
This activity will bring nurses together from across NJ to discuss the clinical workforce shortage,  the most current information in HIV care and treatment for primary care providers, treatment of other STDs and STIs, providing PrEP, and practicing resiliency and self- care for nurses.

Objectives
  Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

 


  1. Analyze national and regional survey results on the workforce shortage in healthcare and discuss the impact on the region.
  2. Incorporate recommended screenings and evidence-based treatments for PWH in the primary care setting.
  3. Review the status of research projects currently being conducted by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and other advances in treatment.
  4. Discuss strategies for addressing the syndemic of HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Bacterial STI infections to decrease incidence of new infections.
  5. Describe the role of PrEP in Ending the HIV Epidemic and strategies to implement a PrEP program in the clinical setting.
  6. Recognize the integral role of nurses in positive healthcare outcomes.
