NEST: Summer Institute for Comprehensive Review: The 3-Day Qualitative Track, July 2024

As the demand for health care continues to grow, so does the need for easily accessible, up-to-date evidence on best practices in health care. Systematic reviews are an important vehicle for addressing this need. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the process and tools needed to undertake this important form of research and will work on developing an actual proposal.

This year’s sessions will be held via videoconferencing and the Rutgers Canvas Learning Platform. 

This track is for individuals who are interested only in the review and synthesis of qualitative evidence. This option is available for those who wish to learn the skills for reviewing this type of evidence.

During the session, complete a structured plan to create your own systematic review proposal. 

• 18 contact hours provided with JBI certification upon successful completion of chosen course or module of study. 

1. List the steps in conducting a systematic review of qualititative evidence in healthcare.
2. Assess the quality of qualitative primary research studies.
3. Interpret clinical practice guidelines in order to optimally align clinical practice patterns with standards of care.

The Summer Institute 2024 scheduled for July 8-12, 2024 is fully enrolled. This includes the 3 and 1 day courses as well. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our next Comprehensive Systematic Review Course will take place March 17-21, 2025. We expect registration to open in late January 2025. In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

Method of Participation

In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credit, participants are required to attend 100% of the program, and complete the online evaluation form at the conclusion of the activity. A letter certifying attendance and credit certification will be emailed to participants upon completion of the online evaluation survey.
