Overview

The purpose of this online intensive course is to enhance the health/physical assessment skills of nurses who function in hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, community health, and industrial settings.  An organized and systematic approach to health assessment will enable participants to utilize interviewing techniques to obtain and record a comprehensive health history and apply clinical skills. Participants will develop competence in identifying, describing, and recording normal findings.

An email with instructions for Rutgers Canvas online access will be sent from [email protected] (check spam) on the first day the course begins. Although this course is self-paced, you will have one (1) month to complete it. Upon completion of all coursework, you will be required to take a practicum and final examination. The practicum exam will be administered and proctored online by an instructor. This course meets the requirements for entry into the Rutgers School of Nursing graduate nursing programs and may be submitted for review by other nursing graduate programs.

Please note this is a continuing education course that provides CEUs and a certificate of completion only. It does not offer college credits, a transcript, or a letter grade, and is not eligible for credit transfer.
