Overview

This CE activity prepares preceptors  in a variety of teaching activities and opportunities (i.e. improving presentation skills, creating objectives and syllabus, preparing preceptor roles, and
academic integrity).  The purpose of the TLC is to teach participants how to be an effective
teacher and preceptor. Preceptors can network and assess the effectiveness of their teaching experiences and improve their preceptor skills for Intermediate/Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience.

Specialties - General Pharmacy
Professions - Pharmacist

Objectives
  Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

 


  1. Develop objectives appropriate for their practice site.
  2. Identify common bias associated with giving and receiving feedback.
  3. Identify methods used to overcome barriers and properly give and receive feedback.
  4. Demonstrate giving and receiving feedback through case examples.
  5. List methods of applying teaching style in different ways in order to help students with different learning styles succeed.
  6. Organize the appropriate steps for dealing with "difficult" situations.
  7. Illustrate the perspective of the preceptor's and School of Pharmacy's view during an academic integrity, professionalism, or civility issue.
  8. Identify strategies to assist preceptors in cultivating and promoting professionalism.
  9. Design a learning environment for pharmacy students within a hospital practice.

You must complete the online evaluation AFTER the activity ends.  You will have until July 30, 2024 to complete the online evaluation to be considered for professional credit.  An instructional will be available at the activity as well as sent via email to all registrants of this activity the day before.  All registrants will also receive a reminder to register your vehicle and we cannot and will be able to forgive a citation for any reason.  You must go to Parking Deprtment  in New Brunswick, NJ to appeal.
