Overview

The conference will review updates in Medicaid laws, the use of GLP-1 and effects on PWH, incorporating HIV long-acting injectables into the clinic setting and the fundamentals of patient care by HIV treatment only providers and HIV and primary care practices.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:


  1. Explain epidemiology trends of HIV and the effect on the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EtE) initiative.
  2. Describe the current long-acting injectables for the treatment of HIV and HIV prevention available to patients and their use in clinical settings.
  3. Discuss the indications for different GLP-1 agents available and when it is appropriate to prescribe them to patients with HIV.
  4. Summarize the amendments to federal and state Medicaid laws and the impact to patient care.
  5. Explore HIV Models of Care in multiple settings and explain the benefits of each model based on individualized patient-centered care.
