CCE: The Step Program: Introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (session 1)

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Define the core principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and its application in clinical practice.
Explain the theoretical framework underlying CBT and its effectiveness in treating emotional and behavioral disorders.
Identify key CBT interventions used to address cognitive distortions, behavioral activation, and emotional regulation.
Describe the integration of trauma-informed care within the STEP Program framework.
Demonstrate basic CBT techniques through case discussions and interactive exercises.
Develop strategies for implementing CBT principles in various mental health settings.

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 Nurses: This activity is awarded 2.0 contact hours (60 min CH).

Psychologists: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs. (2.0 CE Credits).   

Certified Counselors:  Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6198.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. (2.0 Clock Hours)
