Overview

The purpose of the NJIAFN fall conference is to provide further information regarding resiliency and self care to interested nurses and students. A trained resiliency officer will be speaking. The goals of this conference are to provide resiliency training to forensic nurses who are continually exposed to traumatic situations, provide self-care treatments and options for the nurses who attend, and provide an in-depth view into the ways nurses can take care of their mental health. These presentations will equip the nurses with knowledge about a lesser-discussed yet invaluable aspect of forensic nursing.


Target Audience
Specialties - General Nursing

Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be better able to:

  1. • Given the increased knowledge of self-care care learners will be able to better care for patients by caring for themselves.
  2. • Verbalize the importance of self-care and self care techniques.

Accreditation and Credit Designation

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

Method of Participation

In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credit, participants are required to check in at registration, attend the program, and complete the online evaluation form at the conclusion of the activity. A letter certifying attendance and credit certification will be emailed to participants upon completion of the online evaluation survey.
