Overview

The purpose of this workshop is to provide nurse educators across the state with a preview of the upcoming ways that artificial intelligence will influence learning and practice. The goal of this activity is to examine ways that artificial intelligence can accelerate or detract from student learning, strategies of integrating artificial intelligence in the classroom or clinical learning to enhance workforce readiness, and to explore the ethical challenges of artificial intelligence as well as the psychosocial benefits and consequences in nursing.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Describe key AI concepts, tools, and ethical considerations relevant to nursing education-linking each to workforce-ready skills such as clinical reasoning, digital literacy, communication, and teamwork.
  2. Demonstrate how to integrate at least two AI-driven instructional strategies or technologies into an existing course or simulation to intentionally develop specific workforce-ready competencies.
  3. Critically evaluate data privacy, bias, and regulatory implications of AI in nursing education and practice.
