Overview

This education is principally for clinicians (Nurses) who work in Skilled Nursing Facilities (Nursing homes.)  It is a blending of clinical, regulatory, compliance and clinical reimbursement education sessions over the course of two days all with the goal of improving nursing home outcomes.


Objectives
 
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

 


  1. List the current healthcare issues and their influence on policy as related to nursing home care and reimbursement.
  2. Describe how FY 2027 final rule has impacted Medicare and Medicaid clinical reimbursement systems.
  3. Document the nursing home current imperatives as defined by CMS, OIG, AG and DOJ.
  4. Analyze how payer type impacts key outcomes such as length of stay, rehospitalization and patient satisfaction.
  5. List ways to engage with state associations in the advocacy of outstanding elder care in nursing homes.
  6. Anticipate policy headwinds from proposed CMS policy and additional legislation and new published peer reviewed outcome studies.
  7. Identify how to best prepare for state survey, using past data and trends in the marketplace.
  8. Describe the intersection of quality, compliance and regulatory success.
