Top Gun School for Assisted Living Nurses

As the acuity and complexity of care for frail older adults continue to increase across skilled nursing facilities, post-acute care settings, and assisted living communities, there is a growing need to enhance clinical knowledge and competency among healthcare professionals. The Top Gun Course is designed to address these educational gaps by strengthening the knowledge, critical thinking, and practical skills of healthcare team members at all discipline levels, ultimately supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care.

1. Integrate interventions to prevent decline in physical and mental status of residents living in assisted living communities.
2. Implement education and training to staff to embrace person centered care, to listen to the wishes of residents and to increase resident satisfaction and quality of life.
3. Implement proper infection prevention and control standards of practice and correctly utilize standard and transmission-based precautions.
4. Practice accurate documentation, care planning and early intervention risk management resolution strategies and show other employees to do the same .
5. Choose the proper actions that can be taken to reduce or eliminate conflict which could impact team morale.
6. Implement training for emergency situations and how to care for residents, staff and visitors during a crisis situation.
7. Know the current licensure procedures and regulations in AL and coordinate procedures to keep your survey ready.
