AEPS (the Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society) Symposium 2019

2019 AEPS (the Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society) Symposium held in Boston, MA. The mission of the Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society (AEPS) is to promote the use of evolutionary theory in applied fields such as policy-making, business, law, education, medicine, and mental health. To achieve this goal, AEPS holds academic workshops and conferences to provide resources for, and connections between, researchers on the one hand, and practitioners, policy-makers, executives, and the general public on the other.

1. Discuss applications and limits of evolutionary perspectives to clinical psychology, family therapy, and individual psychotherapy.
2. Explore robotic and AI based treatments for sexual disorders and the evolutionary relevance thereof.
3. Provide an overview of the way evolutionary theory can inform contemporary CBT and its applications.

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses:  This activity is awarded 1.5 contact hours (60 min CH).

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 general continuing education credits.
