Overview

Critical care professionals encounter a wide variety of disease state and related pharmacotherapies over the course of their daily practice.  New advances challenge health care providers to stay abreast of new clinical research and evolving guidelines that impact medication in the critically ill.  The Tri-State Critical Care Symposium will provide an overview on a wide variety of current pharmacotherapy controversies and new standards influencing the practice of critical care, including speaker insights on recent evidence based recommendations.  This symposium will include topics such as, but not limited to:ICU Liberation, the Human Microbiome, Infectious Disease Rapid Diagnostics, Drug Safety, as well as Vasopressor controversies.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Define Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) and potential ways to mitigate its complications.
  2. Introduce Nephrotoxin Stewardship and its benefits to patient care.
  3. Discuss clinical controversies surrounding vasopressor utilization in patients with septic shock.
  4. Evaluate the clinical impact of rapid diagnostic tests in critical care.
  5. Recognize the impact of critical illness on the human microbiome.

Registration

Registration Fees (no exceptions):  registration closes  at 9:00am the morning of Feb 23rd!

Early Bird Registration:  $50.00 (ends 9:00am on February 5, 2021)

General Registration $75.00 (from Feb 6th through Feb 23rd, 2021)

Rutgers Residents, Fellows and Student Registration: $37.50

EMSOP Faculty Only:  Free of charge

Pharmacists:  When registering, make sure you include your NABP# and birth month and birth day (not the year) in your Profile if you are seeking credits.

All Professions seeking credit:  Attendees of all professions must complete the pre-test, post-test and evaluation in order to be eligible for credit and certificate of attendance. 

CDR continuing education credit offering will be reflected January 1, 2021

Tests, Evaluations, and Certificates can be found in MyCE section.

The pre- and post-tests are to be done the day of this ce activity.  The evaluation must be completed by Noon, March 10, 2021 in order to be eligible for credit.
