Contact Investigation Case Presentations

This activity will familiarize the learner with the fundamentals of the tuberculosis contact investigation. These case studies will discuss fundamental concepts of contact investigations, deciding when to initiate an investigation, determining the infectious period, prioritizing contacts, and congregate settings. The goal is to equip public health professionals with the fundamental knowledge necessary for interacting with individuals while conducting investigations of potential or confirmed TB exposure.

1. Incorporate recommendations and best practices for conducting a congregate setting investigation, including conducting a site-assessment, identifying contacts, and determining when to expand an investigation
2. Assess which contacts are at highest risk for TB infection and TB disease and assign priorities
