Overview

We will not be accepting any registrations after 8:00am on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

The Global Neurosurgery Lyceum Series: Stroke and Neurovascular Symposium is designed to provide neurosurgeons, neurologists, physicians and allied healthcare professionals with a comprehensive overview of the current and emerging cutting-edge management strategies for cerebrovascular diseases and stroke, delivered by internationally renowned neurosurgeons, neurologists, and researchers.

Cerebrovascular disease is a leading cause of serious long-term disability, and the second leading cause of death worldwide. Although the field of stroke and neurovascular care has brought advances toward improving outcomes for patients who are neurocritically ill, in many instances especially, functional outcomes remain poor. Studies have suggested that previous declines in cerebrovascular disease mortality and hospitalization rates have stalled, and that mortality from cerebrovascular disease is increasing significantly among younger adults. These reasons include patient-related factors (e.g., development of new health problems, deterioration of overall health status, or complications from stroke), health system factors (e.g., poor discharge planning and care coordination), and environmental factors (e.g., limited access to care).

This symposium is dedicated to endovascular, neurosurgical, and neurological education, and will cover emerging trends in stroke, neurovascular surgery, neuro-intervention, and neurocritical care. The symposium will emphasize on disseminating the advances in the field of stroke, aneurysm and other neurovascular disorders management, thereby improving the care, better recognition, and timely referral and intervention to prevent secondary brain injury. The examination of health care delivery, management strategies, and identification of individual thresholds by means of advanced technology, all play important roles in how neurovascular care will be presented. Neurovascular care and research are a multidisciplinary and multi-professional effort, and neurosurgeons, and neurologists are tasked to lead this effort to further advance the field.

Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, surgeons and allied healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients with neurovascular diseases, disorders and emergencies.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Assess the latest evidence-based treatment approaches for neurovascular diseases, disorders and emergencies
  2. Discuss the latest advances in neurovascular imaging, endovascular innovations, and stroke care
  3. Describe the emerging research in neurological and neurosurgical emergencies
  4. Evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of therapeutic options for managing neurovascular diseases, disorders and emergencies
  5. Review the latest guidelines on for neurovascular diseases, disorders and emergencies

Registration

Registration Fee:  Complimentary

Pre-registration is required.  Registration for the symposium can only be accepted through our secure online website until May 19, 2021 @ 8:00am(EDT).

Confirmation
Once registered, you will receive an email confirmation.  As the activity date approaches, you will receive additional information to assist you with your plans to participate in this activity.
