Overview

As the demand for health care continues to grow, so does the need for easily accessible, up-to-date evidence on best practices in health care. Systematic reviews are an important vehicle for addressing this need. Participants in the Spring Institute will gain a thorough understanding of the process and tools needed to undertake this important form of research and will work on developing an actual proposal.

This year’s sessions will be held via videoconferencing and the Rutgers Canvas Learning Platform. This track will take place on March 14, 17, and 18, 2022.

This track is for individuals who are interested only in the review and synthesis of quantitative evidence. This option is available for those who wish to learn the skills for reviewing this type of evidence.

Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. List the steps in conducting a systematic review of quantitative evidence in healthcare.
  2. Assess the quality of quantitative primary research studies.
  3. Interpret clinical practice guidelines in order to optimally align clinical practice patterns with standards of care.
