Overview

Population health has continued to emerge as a field that is growing in significance across the healthcare system. It is imperative that health care providers, whether in traditional or non-traditional roles, can create a customizable approach to connect policy to practice for the advancement of health equity. Currently, there is a gap in those strategies for physicians and pharmacists within the pharmaceutical industry. This continuing education aims to address those gaps and provide population health strategies that physicians and pharmacists can use to advance health equity on a global scale.

The pharmaceutical industry is organized into various function areas and Medical Affairs is where most physicians and pharmacists can be located working together on various projects.  currently there is a gap in the knowledge of population health strategies for physicians and pharmacists to incorporate within the pharmaceutical industry.  Therefore, identifying what population health strategies can be integrated to advance health equity is valuable for both professions in non-traditional roles.
