Overview
The objective of the program is to keep working on threading simulation and skills instruction throughout the curriculum. The model provides the students with more opportunities to work in real-world scenarios, while this course will provide faculty with the opportunity to learn more about the process of simulation instruction. At the completion of the program, learners will have a foundation in simulation-based education including simulation design, facilitation, debriefing, and course management.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Discuss practices and approaches for course coordination.
  2. Implementing rubrics in simulation.
  3. Design outcomes and objectives for simulation activities.
  4. Linking simulation design and practices to outcomes and objectives.
  5. Discuss the role of evaluation and data collection for center accreditation.
  6. Articulate the theoretical underpinnings of simulation education.
  7. Recognize strategies to promote facilitation.
  8. Summarize strategies for conducting effective structured debriefing.
