Overview
This activity will assist healthcare providers with the implementation of updated guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about the use of non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) for the prevention of HIV infection.

Professions - Nurse Practitioner, Other Healthcare Professional, Physician, Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Identify the appropriate use of non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) for patients cared for following a possible HIV exposure
  2. Identify patient treatment recommendations for sexually transmitted infections following a sexual exposure (assaultive and non-assaultive)

How to Receive CE Credit: Participants should review the activity in its entirety and then complete the post-test, which consists of a series of multiple choice questions. Upon completing this activity as designed, achieving a passing score of 70% or more on the post-test, and completing the evaluation, participants will be able to download their CE certificate. The CE certificate will also be emailed to you.
