Overview

The ARC and ARC-GROW framework is an evidence-informed approach to working with children and families impacted by complex trauma. This 2-day training is an overview of the ARC Framework and the in-home, caregiver-focused adaptation, ARC-GROW. Participants can expect to gain exposure to the components of these approaches through didactic and experiential learning.

Professions - Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Professional Counselor/Licensed Associate Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Other Healthcare Professional, Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the learner will be able to: 

  1. Increase understanding of the role of early trauma experiences in a youth's emotional, biological, and behavioral development.
  2. Build a repertoire of skills for addressing relational safety for caregivers and children who have experienced trauma.
  3. Learn at least 3 skills for building self-regulation in trauma impacted children.
  4. Build a repertoire of skills for building developmental competencies in trauma impacted children.
  5. Examine GROW session structure including engagement and routines.
  6. Engage in role plays to practice implementation of ARC and ARC GROW Frameworks.

Wednesday's training runs from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Tuesday's training runs from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm

Please Note: Registration for this course is complimentary, but there is a $35 fee to obtain a CE Certificate.

To obtain a CE Certificate for participation in this activity, you must attend the program in its entirety and complete the post-event evaluation.  Select CE Certificate Fee of $35 product when registering.

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses: This activity is awarded 14.5 contact hours. (60 minute CH). Nurses should claim only those contact hours actually spent participating in the activity.
