Overview
This course provides an exploration of ethical principles and considerations in the application of AI within clinical behavioral health. Learners will gain an understanding of key ethical principles that guide  real-world situations, enhancing their skills in navigating complex ethical dilemmas. Learners will be equipped with actionable strategies to mitigate ethical risks and ensure responsible, client-centered AI implementation in their practice.

Objectives
  Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

 


  1. Learners will be able to identify and explain at least three key ethical principles related to the use of AI in clinical behavioral health practice.
  2. Learners will be able to apply an ethical decision-making model to case scenarios involving AI in clinical behavioral health practice.
  3. Learners will be able to develop and articulate at least three strategies for mitigating ethical risks associated with the implementation of AI in their clinical behavioral health practice.

Accreditation and Credit Designation

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Social Workers (The New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners):  This program is approved for social work continuing education hours by Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care in accordance with New Jersey administrative code 13:44G-6.4 and recognized by The New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners.  This program is approved for 2.5 ethics or clinical continuing education hours. 

Psychologists: Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care and RBHS is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care and RBHS maintains responsibility for the program and its content. Introductory level credits (2.5 Intermediate CE Credits).   

Professional Counselors: Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6198. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. 2.5 Clock Hours.
