Overview
This activity will inform participants about evidence generated by the Adverse Childhood Experiences studies, including positive childhood experiences, neuroscience, and resilience. This evidence is translated into every day practice approaches that are useful across healthcare settings.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Describe the correlation between ACEs and adult health outcomes.
  2. Describe the buffering effect of PCEs on ACEs.
  3. Describe how to respond to a patient disclosing an ACE.
  4. Identify the undoing effect of positive emotions on burnout.

Accreditation and Credit Designation

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Method of Participation

In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credit, participants are required to attend the full program and complete the online evaluation form at the conclusion of the activity. A letter certifying attendance and credit certification will be emailed to participants upon completion of the online evaluation survey.
