CCE: Urban Mental Health 2023

This interprofessional activity will discuss the benefits of spirituality as a treatment strength for patients seeking behavioral health and substance abuse treatment.

1. List major similarities and differences between religion and spirituality.
2. Name criteria that could be used to differentiate between healthy spiritual experiences and mental disorders of religion content.
3. Discuss the role of faith in mental health for individuals and communities.
4. Define spiritual crisis and spiritual emergency.
5. Identify characteristics of psychosis related to spirituality.
6. Distinguish among different understandings of spirituality and spiritual experiences.
