Overview

This year’s Summit will bring together professionals from across the care continuum to explore emerging trends in HIV and topics also relevant to primary care providers, share best practices, and strengthen our statewide nursing community. 


Target Audience
Specialties - Allergy and Immunology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Nursing, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:


  1. Describe the role of nurses across the care continuum to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  2. Explore treatment options available to menopausal women with HIV.
  3. Evaluate strategies that nurses can incorporate into practice to critically appraise, safely integrate, and ethically apply AI outputs in clinical care.
  4. Review current FDA approved long-acting injectable medications for HIV treatment and prevention.
  5. Describe key components of comprehensive, whole-person physical assessment for individuals who use substances including relevant history, examination findings and risk factors.
  6. Summarize interventions utilized to strengthen evidence-based nursing policy at the local, state and national level.

Accreditation and Credit Designation

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.



Nurses

This activity is awarded 6 contact hours. Nurses should claim only those contact hours actually spent participating in the activity.
