Objectives
 
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

 


  1. Recognize the pathophysiology of postpartum hemorrhage and its implications for pharmacological management.
  2. Describe the mechanisms of action, dosing, and contraindications of uterotonic agents used in the prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage.
  3. Identify the first-line, second-line, and refractory treatment strategies for postpartum hemorrhage using evidence from primary literature.
