Overview

This activity is designed to improve health care professionals’ understanding of New Jersey’s licensure and credentialing processes and identify practical strategies to reduce delays in workforce onboarding. Participants will learn about state licensure requirements and processes, managed care credentialing requirements and timelines, and common issues that can contribute to application delays. The session will provide best practices for improving application completeness, navigating licensure and credentialing requirements more efficiently, and addressing common barriers that can delay a health care professional’s ability to begin practice. The overall goal is to support more timely workforce onboarding and strengthen health care organizations’ ability to bring qualified professionals into practice and expand access to care. 


Objectives
 
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

 


  1. Describe the licensure process for health professionals in New Jersey.
  2. Identify common causes of delays in licensure and credentialing.
  3. Implement best practices to improve application completeness and reduce onboarding timelines.
