Overview
Dr. Erin Zerbo, MD, will discuss the most recent developments in the field, from the complexities of the neurobiology of the addictive process to breakthrough medical and psychosocial approaches for the treatment of Opioids and Cannabis Use Disorders.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the learner will: 

  1. Review the neurobiology of addiction.
  2. Discuss the evidence behind medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorders.
  3. Investigate the scope and function of the endocannabinoid system.
  4. Explain the risks and benefits of medical and adult use cannabis.

Registration

The Center for Continuing Education at Rutgers Health UBHC welcomes behavioral health providers of all disciplines to attend this event.  We are happy to host this program at our building at 151 Centennial Avenue in Piscataway, NJ 08854. 

Registration Fee: $89

The Registration Fee includes the presentation, breakfast, as well as a CE or General Attendance Certificate for each participant.

Parking: Free parking is provided in the lot just behind the building.


Accreditation and Credit Designation

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses:  This activity is awarded 3.0 contact hours (60 min CH). 

Physicians:  Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

 

Certified Counselors:  Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6198. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. (3.0 Clock Hours).

Social Workers (The New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners):  This program is approved for social work continuing education hours by Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care in accordance with New Jersey administrative code 13:44G-6.4 and recognized by The New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners.  This program is approved for  3.0 general continuing education hours.
