This activity is designed to provide otolaryngologists with an in-depth exploration of current and emerging concepts in head and neck surgery. The program will cover a wide range of topics including advancements in surgical techniques, innovative technologies, and novel treatment modalities. Participants will have the opportunity to gain insights into cutting-edge research, evidence-based practices, and interdisciplinary approaches to managing complex head and neck conditions. Through interactive lectures and case discussions, learners will enhance their knowledge, skills, and clinical decision-making abilities, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes in the rapidly evolving field of head and neck surgery.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Recognize the clinical features, diagnostic criteria and evidence-based management strategies for salivary gland disorders, premalignant lesions in the oral cavity, and squamous cell carcinoma.
  2. Explore controversies surrounding the management of extranodal extension-positive head and neck cancer and analyze the latest research findings and consensus guidelines to navigate these controversies effectively.
  3. Critique the emerging data on HPV-specific liquid biopsies and their utility as diagnostic tests for HPV-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
  4. Review advancements in robotic instrumentation and techniques, indications and contraindications, and patient selection criteria for robotic head and neck surgery.

*Registration must be accompanied by program director’s letter confirming resident/fellow/student status. Please upload your letter when registering or email letter to [email protected].

Symposium fee includes breakfast, refreshment breaks, lunch and continuing education credits. Registration can only be accepted through our secure online website through June 23, 2024. Registration will not be confirmed until payment is received.  If payment is not received in time for the activity, Rutgers reserves the right to cancel the registration.

Pre-registration is recommended. On-site registration will be accommodated on a space available basis.

Confirmation
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email. As the activity date approaches, you will receive additional information to assist you with your plans to participate in the activity.

Cancellation/Refund
A full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee, will be granted if notice is received no later than June 25, 2024. Refunds will not be issued for any cancellation received after June 25, 2024 and cannot be given for no shows. To cancel, please contact CCOE by email at [email protected].
