Overview

This activity is designed to provide otolaryngologists with an in-depth exploration of current and emerging concepts in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. The program will cover a wide range of topics including advancements in surgical techniques and innovative technologies. Participants will have the opportunity to gain insights into cutting-edge practices and interdisciplinary approaches to facial plastic surgery of the head and neck. Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Describe the latest advancements in rhinoplasty techniques, including preservation rhinoplasty, functional and aesthetic considerations, and apply evidence-based approaches to optimize both structural integrity and long-term patient outcomes
  2. Evaluate reconstructive options for head and neck defects, including free flap reconstruction, local flaps, grafting, and microvascular techniques, to improve surgical decision-making and patient outcomes.
  3. Assess current strategies in facial nerve reconstruction, including nerve grafting, muscle transfers, and emerging technologies in facial reanimation, to restore function and improve quality of life for patients with facial paralysis.
  4. Examine the latest surgical techniques and technological innovations in aging face surgery, facial feminization surgery and scalp and cranial vault reconstruction, incorporating advanced approaches such as robotic-assisted procedures and bioengineered graft materials

*Registration must be accompanied by program director’s letter confirming resident/fellow/student status. Please upload your letter when registering or email letter to [email protected].

Symposium fee includes breakfast, refreshment breaks, lunch and continuing education credits. Registration can only be accepted through our secure online website through June 22, 2025. Registration will not be confirmed until payment is received.  If payment is not received in time for the activity, Rutgers reserves the right to cancel the registration.

Pre-registration is recommended. On-site registration will be accommodated on a space available basis.

Confirmation
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email. As the activity date approaches, you will receive additional information to assist you with your plans to participate in the activity.

Cancellation/Refund
A full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee, will be granted if notice is received no later than June 24, 2025. Refunds will not be issued for any cancellation received after June 24, 2025 and cannot be given for no shows. To cancel, please contact CCOE by email at [email protected].

In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.


Physicians: Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses: This activity is awarded 4.5 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should only claim those contact hours actually spent participating in the activity.

Physician Associates: NCCPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME.

Method of Participation
In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credit, participants are expected to check in at the registration desk, attend the program and complete the online evaluation the conclusion of the activity. A CE certificate will be emailed to participants upon completion of the online evaluation.
